Clipboard with paper that reads “Reflections of Today — Notes from the in-between places,” styled with flowers, coffee, and creative workspace items. Reflections of Today is a blog series by Melissa Mitchell sharing behind-the-scenes thoughts, creativity, and lessons from the in-between places.

This series is an in-between space for sharing behind-the-scenes thoughts and honest reflections.

Some weeks are full of sparkle and surprises. Others? Well, they’re more about spreadsheets, barcodes, and the steady rhythm of getting things ready behind the scenes.

This weekend has been equal parts spreadsheets and sparkle—proof that sometimes progress doesn’t always look glamorous, but it feels magical. Between scanning boxes, creating tags, and imagining new designs, I’m reminded how every little detail, even the tedious ones, builds toward something bigger.

Light blue felt fedora hat designed by Melissa Mitchell, embellished with navy and teal flowers, feathers, ribbon, and a playing card accent, photographed on a brown background. A creative design representing artistic expression and the evolution of her boutique collection.
Creativity sneaks in, even between the barcodes.

This hat—one of today’s little experiments—might just hint at what’s taking shape behind the scenes.

A touch of artistry. A spark of whimsy. And maybe, a clue. 🔎

A small reminder that business and artistry can coexist, even in the most practical moments. Maybe it’s my cure for the mundane—or maybe it’s just that inspiration doesn’t have to clock in or out. It’s always there, waiting to be noticed and given the space to become something beautiful. ✨

Sometimes it shows up in grand ideas, and other times, it’s tucked inside the quiet details—the placement of a ribbon, the curve of a brim, or the moment you realize that even the “getting ready” phase can be art in its own way.

Because creativity doesn’t wait for perfect timing. It simply asks that we stay open—that we keep noticing, keep imagining, and keep making room for a little magic in the middle of everyday life.

Things are shaping up in ways that feel both exciting and right. The new logo is in place, the website’s ready, and something brand new is waiting just around the corner.

💫 It’s almost time.

Every detail, every idea, every spark—it’s all leading somewhere.

✨Official announcement drops November 9. I can’t wait to share what’s next.

Thanks for walking alongside me in both the art and the in-between places.
