✨ This series is an in-between space for sharing behind-the-scenes thoughts and honest reflections.
Why the Shift to Evoke Studio & Gifts
Every business has a story—and sometimes, it takes a new chapter to bring it all together.
I come from a long line of entrepreneurs, so supporting small business—especially family-owned and locally operated ones—has always been at the heart of what I do. When began with the Padre Island Art Gallery, my focus was simple: to champion local artists and help them grow. Over time, that circle naturally expanded to include artists like Wade Koniakowsky, who may live in California now but grew up right here on the Island.
As the gallery evolved, so did my vision. I’ve opened the doors even wider—to include small brands with big hearts. Many of these makers began just like I did—in a garage, a kitchen, or around a family table, fueled by passion and creativity.

Evoke Studio & Gifts is a reflection of that evolution. It’s still rooted in art, but now it’s also a celebration of craftsmanship and community. I noticed again and again that people would stop in searching for a special gift—for birthdays, bunco nights, or simply to brighten someone’s day. Art is personal and meaningful, but it’s not always the go-to for every occasion.
So I decided to offer more. You’ll still find inspired wall art and handmade pieces from the artists we love, but now you’ll also discover quality gifts—curated with intention and heart—so you can shop small without ever leaving the Island.
This shift isn’t about stepping away from art—it’s about expanding what “artful living” means. It’s about creating a space that feels like the Island itself: creative, welcoming, and full of heart.
I hope you’ll stop by Evoke Studio & Gifts the next time you’re searching for that little something special—something meaningful, made with love, and chosen to bring a bit of joy to everyday life.
