Where Peace Begins
My favorite time on the beach is early morning—before the sun climbs too high and the shoreline gets busy. It’s the stillness that gets me first. The soft shuffle of waves, the first call of seabirds, the way the light kisses water and the dunes as if the Island is waking up with a smile.

Sometimes I walk the beach and look for shells—finding sand dollars or tiny treasures left behind by the tide. Other times, I sit on my golf cart with a good cup of coffee and just take it all in. The breeze, the sky, the scent of salt in the air. It’s not just a moment. It’s a reset. A peaceful Island morning to anchor the day before it even begins.
Before the Day Unfolds
Island mornings remind me that we don’t always have to rush. There’s value in moving slowly, in beginning the day with intention instead of urgency. Whether it’s through journaling, sketching, or simply breathing it all in, this quiet time can be the most creative part of the day. Some of my best ideas come during those early hours—before texts and to-do lists start demanding attention.
That’s the gift of morning here—it’s not about doing, but about being. It’s a window of calm that sets the tone for everything that follows.
The Art of Summer in Full Swing
Of course, not all mornings stay quiet for long—especially this week! Our very first Kids Art Camp is in full swing, and the gallery is buzzing with energy, color, and imagination. These young creators are diving into painting, jewelry-making, and hands-on crafts with so much heart. It’s joyful, it’s inspiring—and it’s a beautiful reminder of how creativity connects us, no matter our age.

Watching these campers light up as they create something with their own two hands is a different kind of morning magic, and we’re soaking up every minute of it.
Don’t Miss the Incognito Art Show – June 18th
And speaking of creative joy—mark your calendars for the Incognito Art Show on Tuesday, June 18th. This one-night-only event benefits Kaylee’s Light, a local cause close to our hearts that helps restock toy shelves at Driscoll Children’s Hospital.

It’s a show full of mystery and heart—featuring 5x7” original works by local artists, all signed on the back. Visitors can guess the artist behind each piece for a chance to win an artwork from the show. It’s a fun way to support a meaningful cause and celebrate the creativity of our community. Doors open at 5:30 PM, and you won’t want to miss it.
Begin with Beauty—Peaceful Island Morning
So tomorrow morning, if you find yourself up early, take a moment. Step outside, listen to the breeze, look at the sky. Whether you’re holding a paintbrush or just a hot mug of coffee, let the Island morning meet you where you are. It might just be the most beautiful part of your day.

Because sometimes, the art of living well starts with the quiet before everything else begins.
