A Canvas of Curiosity

This summer, something entirely new is happening at Padre Island Art Gallery—and we couldn’t be more excited. Our very first Incognito Art Show is coming, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most creative and meaningful events of the season.

Incognito Art Show - Call for Artists Flyer

The concept? Simple: 5x7" original artworks, unsigned and anonymous until after purchase. No names. No titles. Just pure creative expression. Each piece is sold for $100, and the identity of the artist is only revealed once it’s claimed. It’s fun, fresh, and a little mysterious—just the kind of spark we love bringing to the community.

An Invitation to Professional Artists

We’re putting out a special call to professional artists—those actively selling their work and who reside within 100 miles of the gallery—to join us in this first-of-its-kind event. This show flips the focus away from recognition and toward pure appreciation. It’s about the art itself, the emotion it evokes, and the joy it brings to someone who chooses it.

Full submission details can be found at www.padreislandartgallery.com/incognito-show, or feel free to email me directly at melissa@padreislandartgallery.com.

Important Dates to Know

  • Show Date: Wednesday, June 18 | Doors open at 5:30 PM

  • Online submissions must be completed by Monday, June 9 at 11:59 PM.

  • Artwork Drop-off: Sunday, June 15 | 1–4 PM (appointments encouraged but not required). Please note: No artwork will be accepted without prior online submission approval.

Creativity with a Cause

This show isn’t just a celebration of creativity—it’s also a fundraiser for Kaylee’s Light, an initiative honoring the memory of beloved Island teen Kaylee, whose legacy of joy continues to brighten lives each year during her birthday month. Proceeds will help restock toy shelves at Driscoll Children’s Hospital during the summer season, a time when donations often run low.

Why an Incognito Art Show?

This show is about freedom. Artists have the opportunity to experiment, take creative risks, or simply enjoy the act of making something without expectations. For art lovers, it’s a chance to purchase based purely on what moves them. And for the community, it’s a chance to support local creativity in a fun, meaningful way.

So if you’ve been looking for a reason to create something small but impactful, this is it. Let your work shine—not because of your signature, but because of the joy it brings.

Because sometimes, the best stories begin when no one knows your name.

A Fun Twist for Guests: Can You Guess the Artist?

When you arrive at the show on June 18th, each guest will receive a guessing card at the door. As you explore the collection, choose the piece that speaks to you—and try to guess who created it! All correct guesses will be entered into a drawing to win one available artwork from the show. It’s a fun way to engage with the art, test your instincts, and maybe even take home a piece you love.
