One of my favorite ways to paint - especially when I need to let go of some stress - is to just begin with a messy background and see where that takes me. It's amazing what inspiration you can pull from a mess of color on a canvas. I love all of the freedom and possibilities of texture and color that I find with @goldenpaints I highly recommend this brand. Nothing else I have ever used compares.
This piece was a lot of fun and allowing it to develop organically didn't require preplanning.
I included a portion of the poem Le Lac (The Lake) by Alphonse de Lamartine at the end. It felt appropriate.
Rough translation: Oh time suspend your flight and your favorable hours suspend your course. Let us savor the fleeting delights, the most favorable of our days.
I titled this piece, "Still Moments". An important reminder slow down and enjoy the gifts of the day.
